Psalm 19

  • The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul
  • The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart
  • the commandments of the LORD are pure, enlightening the eyes
  • The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever
  •  the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether
  • keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; do not let them rule over me
  • Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight,

Feeding soul and heart

All the words in the book of psalms are the spiritual food for our inner being, if we read and pray, including pray silently or meditate them, the Holy Spirit will build up our spiritual man. When we get to heaven will know more about this process, but no need to know it now, the only thing we need is obedience the the Word.

Many Words are written for our soul and heart, verse 7 explicitly pointed out this to us, The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul. Our soul desperately need restoration as we don’t know how badly our souls has been poisoned by all the evil and rubbishes of this world. We have to keep reading the scriptures to know the law of the Lord.

Verse 8 talk about joy of the heart, The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart. Many can talk about the joy of the Lord, but without reading and praying to know the precepts of the LORD, they will not experience the joy of the heart. Not to mention God’s will is rejoice always, it is far away from them.

Acceptable in God’s sight

It is such a tragedy that God’s children do not desire to pray verse 14, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight”, and I was one of them. Only after years of praying the psalms I woke up. When we pray or read this psalm, it is as if the Spirit of the creator of the whole universe talking to our soul and heart, saying;

“Dear child, the best thing you can pray is; Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight” And we say, “Dear Lord, maybe next time, but as for now, we still prefer you to do whatever we ask. Bye bye.”

Can we see how wicked is the heart! Very few realise verse 14 is equal to asking God to help us completing our born again process. The new life’s feature is “my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in God’s sight”! That’s why so many people’s faith have not been growing as it should, for Satan has interrupted the progress.

The Holy Spirit showed me the next morning these last three verse is the indicator of godly or ungodly. Naturally, anyone who don’t care whether or not his meditation of heart will be acceptable in God’s sight, nor will he be bothered about sin. Regardless it’s hidden or willful or presumptuous sin. They believe Jesus’ blood can cover all of them, just as it is written: (Jude 1:4 NET) For certain men have secretly slipped in among you – men who long ago were marked out for the condemnation I am about to describe – ungodly men who have turned the grace of our God into a license for evil and who deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. Many have been deceived by them already.

Now let God’s people say no to the ungodly and follow the Holy Spirit to pray psalm 19 and 119:65-80;

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament proclaims His handiwork.
Day after day they pour forth speech, and night after night they reveal knowledge.
There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth and their words to the ends of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun,
Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices as a strong man set to run a race,
Its going forth is from one end of heaven, and its circuit is to the other end. And there is nothing hidden from its heat.
The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandments of the LORD are pure, enlightening the eyes.
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether,
More to be desired than gold, yea, much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Moreover by them Your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward.
Who can understand his errors? Oh, cleanse me from my secret faults;
And keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; do not let them rule over me; then I shall be blameless, and I shall be innocent of great transgression.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

You have dealt well with Your servant, O LORD, according to Your word.
Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I have believed Your commandments.
Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I have kept Your word.
You are good, and do good; teach me Your statutes.
The proud have forged a lie against me, but I will keep Your precepts with all my heart.
Their heart is gross like fat, but I delight in Your law.
It is good for me that I have been afflicted, so that I might learn Your statutes.
The law of Your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver.
Your hands have made me and formed me; give me understanding so that I may learn Your commandments.
Those who fear You will be glad when they see me because I have hoped in Your word.
I know, O LORD, that Your judgments are right, and that You have afflicted me in faithfulness.
I beseech You, let Your steadfast love comfort me, according to Your promise to Your servant.
Let Your tender mercies come to me so that I may live, for Your law is my delight.
Let the proud be ashamed, for with guile they have wronged me; but I will meditate on Your precepts.
Let those who fear You turn to me, and those who have known Your testimonies.
Let my heart be blameless in Your statutes, so that I may not be ashamed.

Amen.
